This act mandated that all newly manufactured faucets must be manufactured with a flow restrictor,

which limits the water flow to 2.2 gallons per minute, If you have an older model faucet, it may

not have a flow restrictor, but you can purchase one and install it yourself. Additionally, some

newer faucets have a built-in feature that allows you to adjust the flow rate.

To do this, simply turn the knob on the side of the faucet to increase or decrease the flow of water.

This law placed strict regulations on flow rates.

All manufacturers must adhere to these standards and no adjustments can be made. In some cases, you may be receiving less than the maximum allowable water flow rate. Normally, this is due to low water pressure, a blockage in the plumbing or in the faucet, or a faucet malfunction.

If you believe that you are getting less than the maximum allowable water flow rate, you should

contact a plumbing professional to inspect your faucet and identify any potential issues.

The professional may be able to replace any faulty parts, clear any blockages, or adjust the water pressure.

If the cause of the reduced water flow rate is due to the Energy Policy Act, then unfortunately,

no adjustments can be made to increase the flow rate,

Removal of this will actually diminish performance. for decrease water flow rate you can adjust the two water supply valve to reduce it 15%-25%.

Our showerheads also feature a non removable flow regulator that helps to maintain a consistent

water flow rate regardless of any changes in water pressure

To further reduce water flow rate, you can adjust the two water supply valves to decrease it by 15%-25%. This will help you save water, reducing your water bills and helping to protect the environment.

During the first few days you use your faucet, a small amount of debris may be flushed out of your

pipe system. This happens even though the plumber flushes the pipes before completing work on

your home, In addition, particles of solder, copper chips, plumber's tape and other installation

materials can get caught in aerators and showerheads. Occasionally, a chip might damage the

valve seat that provides the watertight seal. The tips below will help you avoid problems.

your home, It’s a good idea to flush the lines at least once a year.

To restore the clean and polish, shine, you can use a mild cleaner and a soft cloth to buff the finish. These pinholes are likely the result of mineral deposits that have built up in the spout over

time, To clean the pinholes, you can try soaking the spout in vinegar or a solution of

water and baking soda. You can also use a toothpick or a cotton swab to remove any

stubborn deposits. If the problem persists, you may need to replace the spout.

Pin holes in a MAX faucet spout are usually caused by dezincification, which is the

process of zinc coating the spout wearing away

Dezincification can be prevented by regularly cleaning the spout with a vinegar and

water solution to remove mineral deposits and rinse away any debris.

If you have a brass finish spout, a mild brass cleaner can be used to help keep the finish

looking new, removal of zinc from the brass due to salt solutions, brackish water, mildly

acidic solutions and poorly grounded plumbing systems. When the zinc is removed, the copper is redeposited to these areas and the surface of the part.

This process of dezincification can be accelerated by the presence of chlorine in the

water supply, so it is important to make sure your water is filtered properly before it enters

your home, Additionally, it is important to check the spout regularly to make sure there is

no corrosion occurring.

If the spout begins to corrode or if pinholes appear, it is important to replace the spout as

soon as possible to prevent further damage.

The redeposited copper is a weak mass that is porous and fragile.

If this has happened, you will need to replace the spout.

To determine the spout part number for your faucet model, contact your MAX Faucets

assistant, or e-mail us:  support@maxfaucets.ca

Yes, you can join copper to PVC tubing.

To do this, you will need to use a special transition fitting that is designed to connect

the two materials.

Depending on the size of your tubing, you may also need to use a metal insert as well as

special cement that is designed for use with PVC tubing.

Make sure to read and follow the instructions carefully when using these materials,

Yes. plastic PVC (Polyvinyl-Chloride) tubing can be joined to copper using "grip fittings"

Each side of a grip fitting contains a narrow grip ring and a plastic compression ring

(or rubber O-ring) that forms the seal.

Tips:

Use penetrating oil to help loosen corroded mounting nuts.

Use a hacksaw for cutting steel or plastic pipe.

Use a basin wrench for those hard to reach areas.

Use a tubing cutter to make straight, smooth cuts in plastic and copper tubing.

Wrap thread seal tape clockwise around threaded joints to ensure a tight seal.

Apply the thread seal tape generously and evenly around the threads, making sure

there are no gaps. For additional protection against leaks, use pipe dope or Teflon

paste on the threads before attaching the fitting. When tightening the nut, make sure

to turn it slowly and evenly to avoid any damage to the threads. Once the nut is

securely fastened, check the seal for any signs of leakage. If a leak is detected,

simply tighten the nut a bit more and recheck.

Can I change my single-handle knob faucet to a lever?

Yes, you can change your single-handle knob faucet to a lever, However, you should

make sure you have the correct parts and tools before you start the installation process.

Depending on the type of faucet you have, you may need additional components such as

an adapter, escutcheon plate, or a valve stem, Additionally, you should turn off the water

supply before starting the installation, Once you have all the parts and tools ready,

you can begin the installation process. Follow the instructions provided with the new

lever faucet or consult a professional plumber if needed, It’s important to ensure that the

parts are properly installed and connected before turning the water supply back on.

a lever handle, However, the "action" of a lever handle differs from a knob handle,

so you will also need a different valve in your faucet for the lever handle to operate

properly, A single-handle faucet converted from knob handle to lever handle will operate

slightly differently from an "original equipped" lever model. for assistance, info@maxfaucets.ca

Leaks and drips from a faucet or shower usually result from a worn-out or damaged cartridge or valve. Worn or damaged washers or seals can also cause the faucet to leak.

It is also possible for a faucet to leak if the handle is not completely shut off. Corrosion of the valve seat can also cause the faucet to drip. In some cases, mineral deposits can build up and clog the valve, resulting in a dripping faucet.

In order to fix a leaky faucet or shower, the worn-out or damaged cartridge or valve should be replaced. In addition, the washers or seals should be replaced if they are worn or damaged.

If the handle is not completely shut off, it should be adjusted and tightened. If the valve seat is corroded, it should be cleaned or replaced. Lastly, if mineral deposits are clogging the valve, it should be cleaned or descaled.

A pressure-balancing shower valve faucet is a type of shower faucet that is designed to maintain a constant water pressure, regardless of fluctuations in the water pressure from the incoming supply line. This ensures a consistent flow of water from the shower head, regardless of any changes in the pressure from the source. The pressure-balancing shower valve faucet works by using a diaphragm that is sensitive to pressure changes, which helps to regulate the water pressure and provide a constant flow, The diaphragm is connected to a valve that is located in the shower valve, which opens and closes in response to pressure changes, allowing the water pressure to remain constant,This type of faucet is beneficial as it helps to provide a more comfortable and consistent shower experience, regardless of any changes in the water pressure from the source. A pressure-balancing shower valve faucet balances incoming hot and cold water pressure to compensate for fluctuations in water flow. Balancing the water flow keeps shower temperatures constant and comfortable, within ±3°F (1°C) of the original temperature, despite other demands such as flushing the toilet or starting the dishwasher. If water continues to drip from the shower head for more than a minute, it may be a sign that something is wrong. You should check to make sure that the showerhead is properly tightened, that all the seals and gaskets are in good condition, and that there are no blockages in the pipes. If the problem persists, you may need to call a plumber to investigate further.

You may need to have a professional check the water pressure, as this can cause a leak if it is too high. It is also worth checking the water heater to make sure it is working properly, as this can be a source of leaks.
